Welcome to the ISID/BMGF Research Capacity Building Grants Portal
The International Society for Infectious Disease’s research grants are one of the Society’s signature programs and are instrumental in fulfilling ISID’s commitment to funding researchers from countries that bear the greatest health and economic burden from infectious diseases. An essential element for reducing morbidity and mortality associated with these diseases in low- and lower-middle-income countries (LMICs) is the provision of training, educational support, and mentoring to scientists, allied healthcare workers, epidemiologists, physicians, veterinarians, and others confronting challenges in the countries most affected.
With funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), this ISID research grant opportunity seeks to provide funding for early career researchers from LMICs living and working in the field of public health. Each grant recipient will receive monetary support for the period of the grant and will be paired with a designated mentor from within ISID’s vast network of infectious disease professionals from around the world. At the end of the grant period, recipients will receive funding to attend an ISID event to present their findings.
